Keychains by Moxi

Post by Moxi »

Just a couple of keychains that I made last week. The only problem I've encountered so far is keeping them snapped shut with both my cross stitch and a piece of paper for backing inside. Luckily a little clear glue and several heavy books seem to take care of the problem.

The "I'd Hit That" keychain is on my keys, and Kain is hanging from my husband's rearview mirror (he doesn't trust it in his pockets).

Both are 14 count - I charted them knowing I'd only have 20x28 to work with. I might try another one with the 18 or 28 count aida that I recently got from ebay.

Those keychains are awesome! Did you find the keychain casings online somewhere? I haven't seen anything like that in the craft stores near my house, but they seem perfect for small sprites!

Thanks! Yes, I did get the casings online. I got them from oriental trading company about a year ago. It doesn't look like they have these exact ones anymore; http://www.orientaltrading.com/ui/brows ... Key+Chains would be the closest. I did an ebay search and there are a few people that sell them there (search for acrylic keychains or photo keychains), but they are definitely more expensive than what I paid (~$5/dozen). But who knows - maybe they are better quality and don't have to be glued shut

I did find some round keychains like this: http://www.sewforless.com/item/Snapin_R ... Blank/8071 at Michael's the other day, they were in the bargain aisle (where everything is ~$1-5) and were $1.29. I picked one up and I'll post when I made something out of it. That website (sewforless.com) could be a good resource for them, too.
