Movie Watch-a-long!

Post by funkymonkey »

We have tried doing a live chat, with minimal success due to time zone differences. I feel we can overcome this by getting a representative sample of what time zones interested members are in, and choosing a time that works for the majority of them.

The first movie suggestion for a watch/chat-a-long: The Avengers!

Please answer the poll if you're interested in participating, and I'll pick a movie date/time based on the results.

It will also be interesting to see where folks are based! I have an idea how I think it will turn out, but I'm always surprised at these things.

Sorry I'm not sorting this myself, I have such a cold. :cray:

I did this with a friend in Australia once and we watched the whole film series of Resident Evil.

midnight london time would seem a good time to do it, just deciding on a day...

Why midnight? Could it not be done on a weekend and start at a time when the Londoners could watch if they're old and crotchedy and go to bed by midnight usually?

Maybe we could also post what times aren't good for us so that it's easier to see what will work for the most people? For me, I'm unavailable on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1530 UTC to 2045 UTC, Wednesdays after 2230 UTC, and Fridays before 1800 UTC. (Due to Daylight Savings Time, all of those will be earlier by an hour starting March 8.)
Mostly hibernating here. Find me on Twitter @rmdcade.

If we go by everyone's schedule we"lol probably never get anything done. I'd be more inclined to say, starting at GMT 20:00 (reasonable, but not too late) which is 3pm for US East Coast (again not terrible) and still doable for the rest of the majority. I will say if it's starting past 10pm GMT I'm out, cause I'm oooollllddddd.

Sydney here (+11) My work schedule changes around a lot, so I could be working any morning. Might be easiest if I drop out of the planning, and then if it does end up on a good time for me I'll join in.

Agreed. We should just pick a time and go for it!
