Mario Suit 8-bit Paintings
First 2 of a set of 4.
Next two will be Hammer suit and either Mario in the boot, or Stone statue. Haven't quite decided x)

Ahhhhhh I love these! They are just so neat and clean looking

This is how it all starts. All I use is a ruler and a pencil. I free handed the circles

How do you keep the pencil lines from showing through, though? When I tried even with several coats of acrylic and very light pencil marks, you could still see them

I usually erase the marks as I go for each section/color. Say I'm painting all the green squares, I'll erase all the lines in the green section. if you do this, you have to make sure all your other colors on the canvas are fully dry or else the eraser shavings will stick to the wet areas.
