Actually I can possibly help out with the pointed bits for the morning star (if I'm right in thinking that is a sphere with bits on the end) though they'll be blunted and not pointed. I made a Katamari ball that is a sphere with bits on it. I made the sphere first and then attached the separate little nodes.

If you want to use that let me know and I'll put the pattern for the nodes up. ^_^ They're very easy at only about 4 rows if memory serves
