Well...I couldn't really say. But I bought this particular 310 cone for last year's charity quilt (one of my pieces had a fully black background) and I'd say I've used about 3/4 of the cone now.

I have been cross stitching forever and this is the first I have heard of floss on cones  I am not sure how I have not run across them in my search for supplies. I just did google search and found them on 123stitch.com http://www.123stitch.com/DMC_Six_Strand ... Cones.html
I think so, Brain, but can the gummi worms really live in peace with the marshmallow chicks?
I think so, Brain, but if they called them "sad meals" nobody would buy them.

This is going to be fantastic loafoftoast. Can't wait to see more :good:

Also, cones of floss? You would need to go through a lot to need that much =s

I saw something similar that people at a craft show used with an embroidery machine. They were giving them away at the end of the night but it looked more like twine than floss. It's a shame I recently got rid of them. I don't think they were DMC though so I probably wouldn't have used them anyway.

Those cones things sound awesome! I've never seen them in person though, I'll have to check around and see what I can find... sadly, even if I find them, they won't help me for this project. I've already bought 10 skeins of 939.

So I started the sky a couple days ago.... here's what I've got done.

New update! Started on the orange bits. Not sure about the darker colour, but I'll stick to it since it looks right in the skein with the others.

Also, I have colour ADD. I've been bouncing around between the oranges and the blues at least twice a day.

I think that's perfectly normal, especially when there's big blocks of one colour. It gets kinda boring after a while and changing colour breaks the tedium (and keeps the motivation up more!) :D

Just wanted to let everyone know that I haven't stopped working on this. (and wanted to break up today's spam-tastic marathon)

I'm at over 19000 stitches and will be posting a new picture once I get to 20%. Sadly, I wanted to reach this mark last week and ran into computer crashing issues and life. :glare: Hopefully the next 10% doesn't take quite as long.
