Re: The Baking Thread!
Who could possibly bear to eat such beauty?
Making those checkered sides must have taken forever. The powerups are fantastic. The layering sounds divine. And the candles were a nice little touch, too! :3
Tell me, do you ship to the opposite side of the globe?

haha if only I could.
I have ideas for the following cakes/cupcakes...
disney princess, batman and robin, pacman, pokemon, alice in wonderland, zelda
I was going to make a sprite stitch cake with the logo's on it so everyone can have a virtual piece of cake while looking at the awesomeness of a real cake.....
thoughts?

You can't ship to the other side of the globe, how about the other side of the country to Perth? Or do I have to come to you (not that I'd mind, I love Melbourne!)?
And yes, virtual Sprite Stitch cake sounds delicious!

Your cake was so cute Nightshade that I just had to try it for myself! I loved your checker border and Mariokart theme!Nightshade wrote:So....Mario Kart Cake anyone?
I made this for my cousins 9th birthday for Saturday.
This cake is chocolate mud then chocolate ganache, then fudge brownie layer, then chcolate ganache, then chocolate mud. IT WAS AMAZING!!!! (for once i tasted it)
I think the kids loved the power ups more than anything, they were the first things to disappear.
My friends and I all have our birthdays really close, so every year we have one party and I made this for us.
I chose to do Rainbow Road which is our fav level that we still like to play
My friend Mario got to keep Mario of course, my fiance got the Luigi car, I took home Peach, and my other friend loves Batman so of course he's the Batman car!
Thank you so much for the inspiration! And remember that imitation is the sincerest from of flattery! I loved your cake!

Very well done $n0wflake. I'm all for inspiring people I don't mind people copying cakes. It's fun because you get to see the twist others put on the design.
Speaking of cute cakes...and rainbows. I finished this cake last night for my neices first birthday today. Rainbow Ruffles......as in RUFFLES!!!!! and everything on this cake is edible. It feels like it should have a care bear or a my little pony on top.

Far as I can tell Meblourne would be the epicentre. I'm Sydney there seems to be 2? Melbourners, a WestAye and a Tassie

I'm in Canberra, but as I'm a uni student without a car travel is somewhat limited. Sydney (during uni breaks) is easiest

I haven't been to Sydney in a while (2007, and that was with school!) so I'd go again, but I love Melbourne. The first place I traveled to on my own, so it'll always be special for me!
