Ally wrote:Thank you for posting the revisions! This is on my 'need to do' list, but so are lots of other patterns so I don't know when I'll get around to it! I hope you don't mind if, when I do get around to it, I steal your idea of dying the aida blue? It just made everything pop and look so much nicer!
Go for it! I will comiserate with you along the way :good:

This piece is definitely on my TBS (To-Be-Stitched) list as well... especially since I showed the finished piece to my wife and she loved it!
Current Projects: Crocheting stuff, writing letters, cross stitching stuff oh, and making beer!

Thanks for sharing FunkyMonkey!
I've edited the top post to include links to the posts with each of the different patterns. I think that makes it easier on everyone :)

If you like the look of the blue fabric but are intimidated to dye your own, I was just at JoAnn and saw a tube of Charles Craft Aida called Polar Ice... the color seems to be spot on. The sheet was 14 count, 15" by 18", so you couldn't do this whole pattern on it, but you could do a sample of it.

This is the best picture I can find online of the color.

How many strands of floss did you use when you were stitching? I have a project I am working on now I only used 1 and not sure I like how it turned out, would 3 be too many?

I think 2 looks clean on both 14 or 18 count, but any higher than 18 I'd go to one. I actually just experimented with different thread weights on my challenge project.

On the Prince, outline of the cube, and blue circles I used 3 strands (thinking on the black 14 count, it wound need to be denser to not show black), Portal button and cube I used 2 strands, and on the Rainbow Road background I used 1 strand to try to make it look more see-through. You can kind of see the difference; overall 2 I think is standard.
