I just kind of threw myself in at the deep end with back stitch, and being the perfectionist I am I kept doing it until it came out well. The first cross stitch project I did had back stitch, diagonal stitches and half stitches, looking back it seems a bit mental to start with that but once I'd done it (after a misguided first attempt in which I didn't realise that I needed to separate the floss) it looked really good with the back stitch. So I guess I like back stitch
This is great. I'm going to make this for my sister for her christmas present, I think. (doing something for everyone, so have to get started really early!)
Working on:
Retro X & Y! - lost the pattern and fabric, but it's resurfaced ...and i've lost it again lol
Attempting Diamond Painting
Making like three crochet blankets at once #nolife
slowly amassing floss for the old-style Epic Pokemon
Hey, I know this post is super old but I thought I would add my 2 cents on the raindrops. You can actually make them more 'diagonal' and raindrop-looking if you do the top of the blue parts of them as fractional stitches, then backstitch like normal into a triangle. That way you will end up with no unstitched spaces in between the backstitch and the actual raindrop part. Also, I would like to know what this quote is from? Thanks! ;]
