That is so cute! Another pattern to the pile...
Do these hand towels wash OK? Or should you do it by hand?

Re: Pattern for the Star Trek towel
do you have to buy special towels in order to do this ( if so where in the UK can you get some ) ?
and are the for use or for show, ie. do they wash fine ?
and would it be possible to see a picture of the back of the stitchings on the towel ?
thankyou

I would NEVER put this in the washing machine. Definitely hand wash. It's really not meant to be functional, more decorative. If you were to use it, it would have to be very light use. Sparky, the back isn't pretty (like a normal cross stitch) but I'm going to put fusible interfacing on the back to cover it up, which will also seal the stitches in. You could also put a strip of pretty fabric on the back to cover it.sparky wrote:do you have to buy special towels in order to do this ( if so where in the UK can you get some ) ?

Oh, also, it's a special towel made for the purpose, by Charles Craft. I got mine at Jo Ann, but I'm sure you can get them online.

Re: Pattern for the Star Trek towel
try sewandso.co.uk, usually good for stitchable items, failing that get a regular towel and some aida band and then once your stitching is complete, sew the aida band onto the towel, this will also hide the back of your work.
