Zelda Clock (Now Finished!)

Post by Laialda »

So after seeing a few cross-stitch clocks here, it made me want one for my very own. ^.^ None of them really jumped out to me as one I wanted in my room though, so after a trip to Ikea where i grabbed their awesome $2 clock, I have begun to work on my own pattern.

[The extension bmp has been deactivated and can no longer be displayed.]

The numbers are designed from a Zelda font I found online (White border is a guideline and not part of the design) and the image for the background/middle will be the one from this shirt:

I have always loved the tarnished crest design so hopefully It'll turn out as awesome as I picture. I'll update this post as progress continues. ^_^

Update number one.

Colors are showing up strange like in KG Chart. I picked them based on comparison with the pattern on the shirt though, so I know they're right.

Update number three, changed the colors up some and you can start to see the beginnings of the 'faded' or 'worn' sections.
Spoiler

Warning! Large image because zoomed out or in pixel mode did not convey the pattern design well.

I'm thinking about adding some establishments on the edges or something once the crest is done, but not sure what....suggestions anyone?

A while back I was thinking about making my own Legend of Zelda clock, I just didn't know how to make a pattern inside of a circle.
What I had planned for mine, I was going to have Link and Zelda in the middle of the clock.
Instead of the numbers 3,6, 9, and 12 I planned on replacing those with sprites of Kokiri's Emerald(3), Goron's Ruby(6), Zora's Sapphire(9) and the Triforce(12).

I like your design the way it is, nice and simple.
I cannot wait to see to see it finished!

Thanks, I'm a fan of simplicity when it comes to cross-stitch decorations for video games so that's what I tend to do with patterns I make. ^_^

I may still tweak this a bit (possibly add some worn qualities for the background or something) but I'm happy with how it looks as a pattern now as well so I'm calling it done. *nods*

Instead of the bright yellow, you could probably just use white so the gold (trust me it's not orangeish) stands out more. Also as a reminder, the white circle is for placement only and not to be stitched. Fabric should be 18ct or whatever will give you 130 stitches for the diameter of the circle.

Hi! I think this is fantastic, but I'm a little confused.
What size clock did you use? What type of cloth did you use or was it plastic? How did you stick the cloth on the clock?
Any ideas?
Thanks!
