Luma from Super Mario Galaxy

Post by jelibe »

A pattern was requested some time ago by airyokama. I don't know whether you've managed to get one made up yet or not, or if you still want one, but I've done my best and here it is (facing left too). Don't forget to post the finished Luma, I'd love to see it.

Thanks for the tip :D , I've made it bigger in photobucket (15" screen) but it still looks the same on here. Once you've saved it to your computer, you should be able to print full size no problems (tried it myself). :)

couple pc stitch tips...

1. i change the symbol of the background color to the blank space...makes it look a little cleaner.
2. change the symbols to normal symbols like letters / numbers...if you notice your pattern has the special pc stitch font like squares and half shaded squares...which display fine in the image, but if you check out your legend it doesnt match. because web browsers cant display those as text.

PC stitch also lets you remove a background color in the file import area. The GUI for it is not terribly intuitive, but basically you click on the background tab, click on the background area, and then click on "clear selected". Makes it easier to remove all those background stitches (assuming you don't want them... I'd just find blue aida instead of stitching all that area!)

:yahoo: Omigosh thank you so much jelibe! :D

I almost thought of taking down that post 'cuz I wasn't getting any feedback.. XD;;

Waaaaaaaa~~ :clapping: This looks just perfect! Although a LOT of colors.. O3o; I might have to simplify the pinkness to probably 2 - 3 colors (since I don't have a lot of pink x__X), but I'm so happy you were able to do this! :D

You see, I was planning to make a kind of bookmark with stars from the Mario Series (similar to johloh's Mario Across the NES Ages) and/or a bookmark with the Lumas from Super Mario Galaxy (they both seem like neat ideas to me x3). BUT I couldn't figure out a way to make the Luma, and now here it is! :clap:

Again, thank you so much! :hug: I'll try to get it started ASAP!

Aww thats great glad I could help. Thanks for the tips Johloh, I figured if you didn't want that background colour you could see it easily.

If you want me to simplify it further for you I shall be happy to do that, just give me the DMC numbers of thoughs pinks that you do have an I'll see what I can do. I shall also work on the symbols too.

Major editing completed on Luma. Finished pattern in original post.

I've managed to reduce the amount of colours to 5 now. Wow!! I didn't think I would be able to achieve that without it looking wrong but I think it looks great (not blowing own trumpet, just amazed!! :shock: ).

Thanks for the advice Johnal it really helped. :Luigi
