I'm new to the site and thought I'd share some pics of a few perler bead projects I've put together. Let me know what you think!

The colorful sprites of Yoshi's Island lend themselves well to perler bead projects.

Thanks! I've been at it for about 6 months now. It's a ton of fun, but I don't have a lot of friends that were gamers growing up so it's great to be able to share my projects with like minded individuals. :) I'm new to the community also so I'm finding there are some incredibly creative folks out there making some really cool stuff!

Very cool! :good: I see there are shadows in the Yoshi's Island piece - did you do the background in perler beads then layer perler sprites on top to make it look like that? I like it!

They look great! Did you paint the backgrounds as well? I love how they really come together and how it has an added dimension with the perler beads. :)

Thanks all! It's hard to tell in the pictures but all of them are kind of "3D". I build all the objects and characters with perler beads, but to save many, many hours I have a high quality print made for the backgrounds. It cost's a little bit more but I think the results are much better. I build little stands of varying heights for any objects or characters I want elevated off the background. The Chrono Trigger one looks really nice in person since the two trees on either side are in the foreground against the glass with Crono and the party inset. Gives it a cool "looking in" kind of effect.

The top down stuff like Final Fantasy I usually just raise the top of the characters and leave their feet touching the ground (background), so make it look like they're standing out if that makes any sense haha.

So cool! My favourite is the chrono trigger. :clapping: If you do one from Zelda, you will be my hero :)

These are just AMAZING! I am blown away by how far you've taken such a simple seeming art form! I'd love to give it a go, but I'm afraid you've ruined any chance of my stuff looking good, lol.
