Starting a large scale project - framing...

Post by burtmakai »

Hello all. First Post.

About to start a large scale project. I'm doing the overworld for Super Mari World. It will take a while. It's going to be 36"x36" on 14 count aida.
I'm worried about the aida spilling over and getting in the way while I'm working on it.

How do you recommend mounting this to work on it?

Thanks all.

Scroll frames work well for me. You roll the excess portion on the scroll and can unroll it as you go. You might need to make your own with some 3/4 inch dowels and invest in the extension bars for a scroll frame. You can find them sold separately online. Or if you wanted to make it smaller, you could stitch it on 18 or higher count fabric. Hope this helps.
