I've seen some people roll it up and use one of those heavy duty paper clamps to hold it. You can get all kinds of sizes so you can kind of control how bad of a crease you have. And I think that using this is similar in how BMH was saying to use bobby pins.

If there's a huge excess, I usually just roll it up and put a safety pin through it if here are no stitches yet. If there are stitches, I use a clip or something that won't go through the fabric.

I would see first though if it will fit under the q snap.
