Converting to DMC

Post by merangel »

Any cross stitchers here able to help me convert these into DMC? I bought them in a $2 pack from a cheapo store. The brand is MEANT to be sullivans, but the colours don't match up. I tried using the conversion chart from sullivans and all the conversions from http://www.cyberstitchers.com/stitching ... on_charts/ but none of them seem to match.

That looks like tapestry wool. Cross stitchers don't usually use that, but more importantly, the numbers for tapestry wool is different from the numbers from floss in DMC and most other brands.

You need to do a search for tapestry wool color cards from various brands and spend the time comparing each to the color cards. Make sure that the color cards are not designed for floss!! It may not be DMC either. Try Anchor as well. That coral looks a lot like the Anchor choral I used on a blanket.
