You still need to bring this by my office so I can drool over it :-) (I usually roll in between 8 and 8:30-ish...)

I just started on the revised version of this pattern yesterday! I am so excited to see how it comes along. I just started cross stitching again with this project (I used to do it all them time when I was younger) so I hope it all works out. I love seeing everyone's pictures of their work and all of the fun patterns on this site!
Current Projects:
Epic Mario Through The Ages
Underwater Mario Scene

Future Projects (getting a little out of control!):
Mario World Maps 1-8
Community Sprites
Mario/Boo Bookmarks
South Park Bus Stop
Mario Through The Ages
Yoshi Home Sweet Home

I've only done a few cross stitching projects, but wanted to work on something truly "epic" . So, I started this about 2 weeks ago. I just joined up to thank Kuja.girl, Funkymonkey and Osmosis for doing the hard work of creating this pattern and bringing it to us. You guys are amazing.

2 weeks progress- I doubt I'll be able to keep this pace up.

Revised Epic Mario Through the Ages
Progress - bit under 5 weeks (2 strands over offwhite aida 14)

Color Changes:
Used DMC 906 for the frog suit because it is really bright green in the game and the first pattern and some other cross stitch patterns used this color.

I found the red Paragoomba to be a bit too bright red (maybe because I'm not stitching on blue?); so, when I moved onto raccoon Mario, I used DMC 817 (instead of 606) and 3771 for the skin tone since he seems to be a light peach color like in this sprite.

KG-chart gave me 817 and 758 (Very Light Terra Cotta, 3771 is Ultra Very Light Terra Cotta and I had it already).
I'm being a bit indecisive on sticking with the 3771 or going back to the tan (739) in the pattern which I used in the frog Mario.

Oh, and please forgive the cat hair/lint. One of my cats was even more of an obstacle to my cross stitching today than usual.

He just loves laying on things. Especially the bag I cover my cloth with :banghead: BTW This project started my floss collection and filled that entire box.

Changes, continued
The sand seemed too dark orange. Changed out 740 Tangerine to 742 Light Tangerine. This seems a lot closer to the color I saw in game. Although, I will say I think the block next to the water that uses the same color scheme looks better with the darker color (I might replace it later).

For the cactus, I used 906 and 909. There is a brown version in the first level of world 2 that I think is supposed to be burnt.

However, I prefer the green version that is found a little more often in game.

For some reason I often see the Hammer used as the power up for Hammer Suit Mario online, but that's used to break rocks on the maps.

while the power up to give you Hammer Mario is actually a little suit like the Frog Suit and Tanooki Suit power ups.

So I replaced the Hammer with this Hammer Suit. I haven't got the color to fill them in yet, but I will probably use 3852 (Very Dark Straw).
I had problems finding a sprite, but found a copy of the all-star version on the Mario wiki and used it to draw a copy with the original NES colors.
