Re: March Madness

Well I'm finishing my patch. I don't see why I should give up partway into something.

For now let's just finish the patches we're working on. Then we can re-evaluate the situation. I don't want this to fall through but I'm starting to worry that there are too many cooks in the kitchen. I believe that we need 1 person in the lead and 1 person to make the executive decisions. If that's not me, that's fine. I've been doing my best, but I understand that I can't answer everyone's questions, and we really had no idea the scope when we said "yeah sure, let's do the whole Gen 1!"

If we would like to do lap quilts then we could make it a kind of hodge podge thing. Keep going at it, but only have say 12-14 patches per quilt. For now we do only Generation 1 Pokemon/People. Whatever order we pick the Pokemon in that's the order we do it in. It'll be like traveling around Kanto. Random Pokemon jumping out of the bushes. That way we would not be overwhelmed, get some projects done, AND raise money for Japan. All goals accomplished.

If it takes a year to get this done, that's ok. Japan won't be fixed any time soon. There will still be donations taken, and people to help in a crisis.
We are the Patchwork Pokemon Gym! Fear our needles for we summon our Pokemon with fabric and floss! And we are AWESOME!!

i'm willing to get as much done as i can!! i would quite happily make sure this didn't fall through if i knew a quilter, as that's really all we need. personally, i think our original idea is fine, if we want to put a border round them, then fine. i have no problem with people having time to do more patches than other people, it doesn't mean they've worked any harder, it's just time, which we can't really change because of jobs and duties. if people have more time than others then so what? this is about helping Japan, not some kind of race :cray:
Current Projects:
Link and Triforce Square = 56% complete.
Kanto Map = 60% complete.
Hetalia sprites for Xmas presents. Other projects will be put on hold until these are done. Shouldn't take long though. :3

Blessed Be
)O(

Yeah. I guess.

I think the only problem we have is that ... there;s being too many ideas tossed down and nobody to really say "Yes, that's what's happening".

We need a president of the whole thing, then the second president, or whatever who is going to actually be doing the quilting part.
I just find myself quite confused sometimes, because so many things are being tossed around, and nothing really seems to be finalized.

What does 70x70 on 14 count Aida come to in inches? I've none in the house to measure and if someone finds out for me, I can procrastinate from my exam study a little longer and whack out some stuff.

There was an original idea, let's stick to it -- 70x70 squares, 3 BGs, pick squares as you like. Stop trying to screw with that formula. In August. we'll see how many patches we have and make a decision on whether to hold for another month to make a few additional small squares or to go with what we've made and call it good.

Well, you guys put me in a better mood, I think.
I don't know why I felt so... lazy about my patch, but now I'm like... flying through it.

Though I do have a question: How do you guys keep your stitches from flattening/ruining when you use a hoop?

Is a terribly good idea

I really didn't meant to mess anything up or to add doubt about the project. I really want it to happen.

I don't think you did, Yurtle. I do agree we're thinking too hard on this. It's plenty organized, we should be having fun by this point
