amneufeld wrote:Phew, I finally read through the whole thread and I would like to join. I have black aida on hand, would that be okay? If something light would be better I can zip to the store. I am terrible at making patterns so I'm hoping someone can toss me an sth file

I would like to do Diglett/Dugtio and Ekans/Arbok since both appear to be unclaimed~
Hey amneufeld! It has been decided to use white/other light coloured aida.

I threw together some quick patterns. I don't entirely trust Kg Chart's colour choices, so I included pictures under the spoilers as well, hope it's okay for you!

@Craftymaster - Yes, a few stitches under two inches on the extra space is ok.

Welcome to the Pokemadness Pokemarathon Amneufeld!

I can't tell you how awesome I think you all are.

Started the Ditto patch, looks like it'll take me 2-21/2 weeks to complete.

Question - What organization do we want to donate to? We can't exactly donate to 'Japan'. The Red Cross was suggested to me.

I was thinking the Japanese Red Cross would be best. More direct, yeah?

Didn't quite get my WIP up last night (obviously). Kinda fell asleep on the couch. I also couldn't pick up the thread I needed last night 'cause as I was driving home, a tornado touched down south of where I lived. So....yeah....just kinda wanted to get home. Will get them today. Only have a 4 hour work day, so that's good. More time for stitching!

On another note, I tried making patterns for Squirte and Snorlax, but it failed....miserably. I know, in theory how to do it, I just can't get it to work, so if someone could just slap a picture together, I can get it from there. I can figure it out that much. :) Thanks!

Although you can donate directly to the JRC, within the Red Cross organization they prefer you to donate to your national Red Cross - for example I would donate to the British Red Cross. They would then pass the money on to the appropriate Red Cross or Red Crescent for the country that needs it - in this case the Japanese Red Cross. This is because they are better equipped and informed to spend the money locally (this helps to put money into local communities) to buy things that they know are needed. They also save money by not having to send people and tons of supplies, so that more of your money gets there.

Like I said, though, you can donate directly to the Japanese Red Cross - here is a link to the appropriate info on that: http://www.jrc.or.jp/english/relief/l4/ ... 02070.html

Thanks for the info!

I think, in light of our international efforts here, that direct donation to the Japanese Red Cross might work a little better. I know that thus far we have America, Australia, Canada and England represented in our project.

I know that actually doing the auction is a fair ways off, but I thought it might be good to have a clear goal in mind. Something to put on the 'mission statement' or whatever for the website yeah?

I'll try my best at that for you.

NOTE TO EVERYONE: Snorlax isn't being put with anyone, right?

Here is the Squirtle Evo patch for you, Kareesh. =D

I couldn't find a more blue sprite of Squirtle, so that's the best I can do. <3

EDIT: And Snorlax, if he is to be on a patch alone. <3

Yeah, I thought that a direct donation would probably be best considering the international involvement here, but thought it couldn't hurt to be well informed :D

Yes! This is something that definitely will be needed for the site, so if we can come up with something that would be excellent. A mission statement type thing would be ideal.

Also, will there be future PokeQuilts (such as gen II and so on)? Just thinking about future site content, as this will help me finalise a design/layout etc :)

You can just call me Anna Marie (that's why the am stands for), that should be a little less unwieldy haha :swoon:

I have six of the colours on hand, but I'm definitely missing the background one so I am heading over to one of the Michael's nearby for that and the aida. Should be able to start tomorrow evening, but might try to get everything set up tonight if nothing else.

OMG, i come back after a day and there's so much i've missed!!! welcome to the madness newcomers!! :wiz I should be able to take on another if people don't take them, i'm getting much faster at stitching now, and i know it'll go faster once i get hold of the much needed 14ct Aida on Friday. I'm currently stitching Moosecastle's 'Nippon' viewtopic.php?f=9&t=3275&p=25131&hilit=nippon#p25131 for my mother to go on the front of her mothers day card. i know it's a couple of weeks away, but i can get it done before friday then i wont have anything else to worry about except the pokemon patches :D
Kareesh, yours is looking fantastic already!! keep up the great work!! :yahoo:
