Thanks Sirinth for the tips! I have been lurking like crazy, and watching how people do their thing. Hoping to get a camera soon so I can get started. My username is LadyAshlene so you might see me popping up around the creative channel.

I did it guys! Started streaming the beginning of this week. Still have a lot to learn and upgrade, but I am already addicted. Thanks again for the guidance and support.

I have been lurking at people doing cross stitch. I have a friend helping me work on setting up streaming. I might try to see you stream Ashlene. I probably should chat in streams. I have a little. I have watched a few that sew stuff. I should look at manual for sewing machine that I inherited and see what I can do with it.

I've been streaming games lately because the burnout is real, but I should be back to stitching soon.
Glad you guys are having fun! I know I've seen Ashlene around

Depends on what you want to do/what you're comfortable with.
Second monitor is nice, but not absolutely necessary. I've seen some stream off a small laptop before.
There's a million articles out there on the nitty gritty of getting started, programs to use, how to set it up, what to put on your layout, etc.
Since we get a lot of these questions lately, from new people discovering and considering streaming - we made an article showing some example setups. From the overly elaborate to the minimal laptop setups:

If any of you read Cross Stitch Crazy magazine, you may've noticed a Twitch related article in June's issue.
Credit to Kwarning for the photo, as my local B&N STILL does not have this issue in. >.<
This is the second magazine article on the subject, and a third coming in MrXStitch's new mag.
So exciting to see the community grow. We've been sending people this way too, you'd be surprised how many nerdy stitchers haven't stumbled across the site yet. Or take a new look after asking about a pattern.
But I'd love to see more crossover in the communities!

I streamed last week. It was my first time doing it. I might try again this week. I got a copy of Cross Stitch Crazy and read the article. I am Debusa on twitch if anyone wants to look it up.

Hopping on this, even though I'm late. I've started streaming games lately. I want to stream cross stitching, but don't have a camera yet. Figured just listening to me breath and listen to music wasn't enough for a cross stitching stream. lol.
I'll definitely have to check you guys out.
