I just found out that Magfest (the HUGE video gaming convention I am a part of each year) has both a silent auction and a live auction that benefits Child's Play every year. Is this something we would be interested in donating a quilt to next year?
*Washington DC, VA, MD – December 20th, 2012* – In the past two
years, MAGFest, the Music And Gaming Festival, has raised over $15,000
to support Child's Play (
http://www.childsplaycharity.org), the
Penny-Arcade run charity which provides games to children's hospitals
around the world. This year, MAGFest hopes to surpass all years
previous by offering a variety of charitable activities to help raise
money for Child's Play.
Usually known for its non-stop gaming and concerts, the upcoming 11th
annual *MAGFest* will also be hosting both live and silent charity
auctions, as well as a brand new event: *Table Flipping For Charity*.
MAGFest provides the table, cutlery, cups, beverages, and more, and
you provide the rage. The more you donate, the more stuff you get to
flip over. Never before have violent outbursts been so productive to
society!
Silent auctions will be running throughout the entire weekend, and a
live auction will be held on Sunday afternoon (January 6th). Dozens of
rare and signed gaming items will be up for auction, including several
one-of-a-kind items such as a signed printer's proof sheet from Final
Fantasy: Distant Worlds, as well as a mint condition vinyl soundtrack
to Beverly Hills Cop 2, signed by Final Fantasy composer Nobuo
Uematsu's band Earthbound Papas (formerly The Black Mages).
