Thank you for the advices... nothing worked for me... So I decided to use:no_need wrote:I know that no one will be doubting BMH and her all-consuming stitching powers of amazingness, but I thought I'd weigh in. When I was working with black cloth (28 ct evenweave) I found that the easiest thing to do was to put something light coloured on my lap, as BMH says, and then to angle my work light at that rather than the project. Obviously this only works if the room you're in has good light anyway, but the extra light reflecting off the white object makes the holes in the fabric particularly clear, and I found I could stitch much faster this way.blackmageheart wrote:It is! Try putting a white towel or piece of material under it (like on your lap or something) - that will help you to see the holes in the black aida a little better!caslzelda wrote:Black aida is an evil b****
Oh I hate that! It's the same when you bring a book, and everyone asks you every couple minutes on how it is and what it is about. lol My 2nd gift is a stitching and it only has 6800 stitches. Compared to 90.000 mine is a baby!shanoa wrote:Well, I'm about 1/5 done with my project (Thanks to some help from BMH in the patterning department). The folks at work are amazed by the fact that I bring it in and work on it in the break room every chance I get. Now if only I could get them to stop asking me to explain the whole thing to them and just LET ME STITCH!!!
It's quite annoying. The Michael's near me (my preferred craft supply destination) has gone through some changes in the past few months...and it doesn't seem to be for the betterblackmageheart wrote:I hate when that happens, which is nearly all the time. If I had known, I would have just ordered online, but alas. Anywho, I still only have the one idea and I'm about a third of the way through it. I'm toying with a couple other ideas, but nothing set in stone (or stitch, har har) yet.
I kinda changed my mind, I'm too afraid I'll not be able to finish it on time, so I think I'm going to start something elsecomatosegrl wrote:Oh I hate that!
