Yay! I have to admit I was excited and took photos of it before I sent it out so I can post the photos later too if you're too busy :)

So...I sent out my swap items a week ago and I've been a little worried because they didn't have too far to go. But, I get the mail today and I got one of those USPS "We're sorry..." plastic baggy things. I guess the envelope/letter got shredded and the destination addy was unreadable so they sent it back to me. Luckily, the swap items were perfectly okay and all accounted for (Thank whatever deity may be up there!), so I'll be making another trip to the post office tomorrow to get them resent. I specifically wrote "Hand Stamp Please" on the envelope and paid extra postage for it and everything, but I guess I'll spend the extra money for a bubble envelope. And I'm bringing the first one and making them reimburse me because you can still clearly see the "Hand Stamp Please" part. I guess long story short, I hate the USPS and someone should be on the lookout for some really awesome gifts :D

Yeah, I agree! The two things I've learned from this swap is never trust the USPS and that making awesome gifts is really fun! Next time we do a swap we should have a swap-wide paypal fund for people who what to use UPS or FedEx. I would gladly pay the extra to never deal with my local post office ever again!

I dunno about the US, but I've found in Canada postal outlets inside Shopper's Drug Mart to be pretty solid, especially if you're a regular. Is there an American equivalent -- a post office inside a store of some sort?

Not that I'm aware of but that would be awesome if there were. I wish i could just go to the magamart and mail all my stuff! My post office is pretty solid on getting things where they need to go then again relatively speaking it is a small town...... :zelda

I've never heard of such a thing. I only know of certain grocery stores that have drop offs/pick ups, but those are only if the package already has postage on it. I'm just glad the items weren't damaged or lost in the process.
