I've been procrastinating too! I tried finding a picture I liked that I could create a pattern out of but the problem with newer games is that they're never small enough images or sprites! Grrr... I don't know what I'm going to do!
All of those idea, RAWRmonster, are great!! Awesome job! I wish I could think of something and was more creative!

ok, so I havent been following...but, I'd like to start designing my square...
size should be 96x96 plus 4-4.5 inches on the border (white aida)?
I can choose any game? or should I try and pick one not on the list here?

I think I'm going to do the Donkey Kong square, since the colors really pop. I might reposition Jumpman to the second rail though.
If anyone wants to make any of the other squares, be my guest.

After I get the square done for this, I'll probably do one or two either for my personal collection or for Etsy.

Ok, I have my pattern allmost ready to stitch, but still have to go out and buy some cloth to stitch on. I've been calculating and gonna buy some tomorrow at my (semi-) local crafts store. After that I'll post my pattern for the first square and will start stitching! And see what i'm gonna do next!

That's right johloh, I should repost the info again to keep it near the end. I'd say you can do any game and try to keep the repetition of games on the list to a minimum. For example, I think there can be a few pokemon squares no problem because there are like 400 pokemon, but maybe just one excitebike square. I might try to do a super dodgeball square too, I used to rent that game every weekend.
Here are the specifics for the squares:
16 count white/off-white (no colored) aida
6"x6" (96x96 stitches) working space
We need at least 4.5" border on each side so:
at LEAST 15"x15" total canvas size
Also, plan on sending $2-$3 per square to cover the cost of quilting materials(not finalized yet, but plan for it)
Looks like there are some great ideas out there, I guess I better get off my butt and get started!

Do you think we should start an "official" thread, since this is still technically the brainstorming thread?

RAWR, are you not doing the Dr. Mario pattern anymore? You mentioned it was your top choice before and now saying you're doing DK. If you're not doing the Dr. Mario one, could I steal that as my square? I still want to fiddle with a Plants Vs. Zombies one but would like to make sure I have one done first. Take the pressure off when I'm trying to come up with a pattern.

Do we want a new one? Or just change the name of this one?

Maybe just change the name and put the fabric requirements and doc links in the first post? I don't want to start a whole new one because a lot of people have already posted their ideas here. Here are the doc links if you do edit them in:
The misc quilt:

Final Fantasy:
https://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key ... l=en#gid=0
Zelda:

The final fantasy quilt is still a little anemic, so hopefully more people can contribute to that one.
I'm not sure what's best, so I'll leave that up to you.
