Count should only matter in regards to the finished size.
Here's a link to a post by Katdun with logos from the 2013 and 2015 stitch-a-long - square and banner style. viewtopic.php?f=4&t=15565&start=270#p92820
I decided earlier this week that, even though I was really excited for this to start at the beginning of the year, I've since started a half a dozen new projects and the time spent doing the 7 thousand stitches or so for the SAL on games I haven't even played would be better spent working on those projects.... Yet for some reason I find myself measuring fabric and downloading patterns tonight... Obviously I lack resolution. oh, well, only have 5 or 6 days until the new pattern comes out, better get cracking.

That's true, but having the count set in a pattern removes the need to work out the finished size, as it's done for you!
Anyone who wants to use katdun's pattern, feel free - she will not mind at all. There are also alphabets and things in my old ass post katdun linked to, so grab those if you want them!

Aren't they those little things you warm up and use like a hot water bottle or heat pad?
Yep, that's them!
Also thanks for the logo, BMH

obviously I took some liberties with a chicken, and the lot is used from what I have - no buy SAL!
Working on:
Retro X & Y! - lost the pattern and fabric, but it's resurfaced ...and i've lost it again lol
Attempting Diamond Painting
Making like three crochet blankets at once #nolife
slowly amassing floss for the old-style Epic Pokemon
Ok, so I'm noticing this in a lot of the WIPs on this forum, but what are all the little blue marks on everyone's fabric? Is it a common practice to mark your fabric in blocks like that? I've never stitched a pattern using marked fabric before, this is the first place I've ever seen that. But I guess it works?

It helps a lot with the counting! I think the most common is to mark every ten square block, and then you can eyeball it and keep track of your count more easily. It also helps you get a better view of how big the piece is going to end up
