Actually, this really reminds me of Link's Awakening, when Link has gathered all the instruments and made his way up to the Wind Fish's Egg. There's even 8 badges to match the 8 instruments.

But yeah, I didn't know what to do for this challenge, but I really wanted to do something. So after almost an entire month of browsing various video game coins and shinies, I thought, "why not take something that isn't bling and make it bling?" I decided on the yellow turtle shell from Super Mario World. It was already sort of gold looking, so I grabbed way too much metallic thread and went over-the-top with it. I also wanted to make my entry literal bling. Something you could wear. So I went with gold earrings, because gold. Duh.

Wow everyone's entries look fantastic. I'll be hard to choose which I like the best. I have a weakness to shiny things and I'm glad I'm not alone. Great job.
