Starting after lunch, once I've worked out if I've got a large enough piece of aida in my stocks :)

I'm excited to participate this month! Since I finally got my personal site done and updated, it's a good time to take a break and stitch some fun.

I'm pretty boring, though, and my brain isn't really working so I'm thinking my sampler will pretty much be what the pattern is. Not sure that I'll be doing too much extra.

Could someone direct me to some patterns for borders and/or blackwork? I'm fairly new at all this so I'd like to get some ideas for borders. Thanks!

I wasn't aware of that site, but it's a good one. I have a couple books with blackwork in them, but I also like to do a search in Google images and just see what comes up and what I like. This is a pattern I got off of a Google search:

I used it on my Weedle portrait, actually:

Started mine last night. I stuck with aida for this because we're strapped financially, so I, unfortunately, couldn't branch out. I had all but two of the colors already and the other two I found suitable substitutes. Only got one color (349) done last night, but hope to get quite a bit done today and should be done by the time the next one is chosen.

Is it too early to start posting WIPs? Here is mine so far:

I'm doing over 2 on 28 count even weave, so it's basically 14 count. Starting in the middle of the band seemed the best idea, to make sure that everything is even.

Looking good Starrley! I also started here, but with the outline first, about to go on to the black. :)

I started with the shell as well, Starrley :) I'm enjoying stitching this band - did a lot last night, while searching for eggs on Dragon Cave. :)
