3D Tetris blocks

I decided to make some 3D Tetris blocks for a friend for Christmas, maybe make ornaments out of them. Since I didn't have yarn on hand though, I decided to figure out the patterns in mini-scale with perforated plastic and embroidery thread. I got the pattern worked out for a T-block, but now I don't know what to do with it!
It's super cute and I know I want to make the other shapes, but I've ruled out making it into a necklace or keychain because I think it would get dirty too quickly. Maybe I'll just put them in a bowl as toys to stack up and play with? Any other ideas for uses for mini tetris blocks?

Anyway, I'll be taking a stitching break for a few days. My fingers are getting blistered from the combination of this little guy and the glow thread challenge!

That's a great idea, it looks really good.
I think they would make fun Christmas tree ornaments!

I definitely need to make these for my Christmas tree!! I'm going for an all homemade Christmas tree. It's not easy for me to make all the ornaments but these would be a super cute addition!

I had a thought when I was doing some 3D stuff before...it'd be possible to fill the inside (just before you close it up forever) with something that'd smell nice. Then you could hang it somewhere?
And stackable toys seems like a really good idea!

I was thinking they would be great for a center piece for your table. I love to take wine glasses and martini glasses & put small things (e.g. mini disco balls, acorns, or cinnamon hearts) in them to make a themed table. Looks even better with different height & shaped glasses. I enjoy asymetry.

Ooh, cute! Throw some metallic ribbon in wine glasses with a full-size tetris piece/ornament to decorate the table. Then guests could take one of them home as a party favor!

I vote for a hanging ornament of some kind. And they don't have to be put away at the end of the Christmas season. You can buy an ornament hanger for display all year long. They're like $3 or $4 at JoAnn.

If you ever thought of making a themed centerpiece, how about a tetris glass bowl, or a container that you fill with those blocks, and maybe drape on the outside or something. Just a thought.
