New to the forum, first stitch project!

Post by missabaldwin »

Please bear with me... I'm not sure if I'm going to be posting this correctly. :)

I purchased a few patterns from a seller on Etsy to try my hand at cross stitch. And now I am hooked.
I made these for my brother, sister and myself.
I added the badges for my brothers from a pattern I found on here. Made by ami-lynn.
Framed them and gave them to my siblings yesterday. They love them!
Thought I should share and hopefully start being a part of this community. :)

Don't mind my dogs big nose in the pic, he's needy. ;)

I have a few ideas for my next project and I can't wait to show you all more!

Hope I posted this correctly!

I agree, it took me about 2 years after I finished my first project to even try framing (which I did poorly) so great job!

Wow! The badges are beautiful, and your pokemon are so cute!! Welcome to spritestitch! Im pretty new too, i would recommend checking out the 'techniques and guides' section. I have learned so much about blocking, ironing, storage, and more. The people here that write the techs and guides are so knowledgeable! Welcome!! :yahoo:

Thanks everyone for the welcome!
And thank you for the compliments. Especially on the framing. So glad my HS Painting teacher taught me how to matte/frame. Even though this was hardly the kind of matting/framing she taught.

Thank you!
I read the blocking tutorial just the other day and it clicked! It's just like watercolor! It makes so much sense. I'm definitely going through all of them now. :)

Nice work. :)

But, you need to know that you don't need to buy patterns any further. A lot of people here share their patterns for free in the patterns sections. :)

Love the badges! And yeah, definitely don't go wasting money on patterns. But it's a very nice pattern, I've been wanting to do the badges as well....
