Nightingale... Shadowbox Thing?

Post by littlerose95 »

Ahaha, yeah I'm not sure what to call this exactly. I spent most of the day working on this, and I must admit, I'm quite proud with how it came out! (Mostly since I made it with everything I had around my room!)

I had already stitched the Nightingale logo from Skyrim, but I couldn't bring myself to just frame it like my other stitches for some reason, so with some scrap fabric, sacrificing the bottom of a hoop, (and lots of glue), I put this together!
And here's a close up of the Thieves Guild Shadowmark and the hoop.

I ended up free handing the circle, so it's not 100%, but oh well!
Thanks for looking and I hope you liked it! :D ...Now I just have to figure out how to hang it up...

It looks awesome, even though I've never played Skyrim before!
Hanging the project is the most confusing for me too! Usually I just put them on a shelf, but shelf space is running out! And I have no clue how to mount them!

That looks really effective :) I never know what to do with my projects, so I may have to try something along these lines as well
WIPS: Dwarf Fortress blanket, sailing ship stitch, shiny pokemon, moth bags

Thanks for the kind words! I'm glad I nailed it, because this one is really special to me, although I can't figure out why!

I know how that feels! I might have to clear some space on a shelve for it! I usually use double sided mounting tape for my frames. It works pretty well, until it gets super hot, though...Haha.

Glad I could help with that! :D

That is a really effective and cool looking way to mount a piece! Too bad I saw this after I threw out a hoop (it had a defective screw)!

I had a power adapter held to the wall with 3M poster tack (which have never failed me!) do something unexpected this summer... The paint came off from the plaster wall with the poster tack (and adapter). D'oh!

I have the pattern for the symbol saved if you (or anyone else) wants it!

I always feel a little bad when I have to throw away a broken hoop, especially if one piece is still good! Oh man, I would be horrified if that happened!

I love your method of framing; it turned out great! But BMH said it best:
