Donkey Kong Country - Live, Laugh, Love

Post by funkymonkey »

I found this frame a while back, and since I've been on a DKC kick recently, thought I'd fill it with appropriate sprites. I made the patterns, then realized the frame was way smaller than I thought. Ended up stitching it on 28 count even weave to get the pictures to fit the frame. I'm very happy with the results, though!

It's actually the first completed stitch I've made to put on my Etsy store. I also put some cat meme patterns up on there tonight, check them out if you're into those :)

This is super cute! I've stitched on 28 count, but nothing as big as what you made. Great job! :)

I'm doing my Aug '12 challenge on 28 count and boy am I glad it's on linen. I stitched a 28 count piece on cotton even-weave once and almost went crazy, you did an amazing joband must have great eyesight!

I mostly just held it about 6 inches away from my face. Made my neck hurt more than my wrists!

And now that I'm back to 14 count, I feel like I'm in that Mario 3 giant world!

Super work!
I'm a fan of the tiny counts (don't get me started on what it's like to use 32 or 40ct though..!) so love what you've done here :D

My mom would LOVE this (She was a huge DKC fan). I've worked on 28ct Aida before and yeah, it's hell on the eyes. I got one of these to cope with it: http://www.michaels.com/Hand-Free-Magni ... s&start=18
