Sprite Stitch Board!

I finally got these framed. I'm not exactly thrilled with the quality; as you guys can tell, some of the sides have been cut off, and they're not perfectly straight, but it was a lot cheaper getting it framed here in Greece than back in America. Also, apologies for the seran wrap on the sides, it's gonna be flying home with me.

I am just awed by these. I couldn't have the patience for something this large. And they look amazing - even with the bits cut off. Anyone would be honored to have those in their home. Someone told me that sprite stuff wasn't art. Well, they were DEAD WRONG. What you have made is art, pure and wonderful art.

The Mario one was the largest one, the Pikachu was just time consuming with all the green, and the Zelda one was difficult only because the original image has lots of different colors, and it took a while to clean it up

I was actually told by some old ladies at a craft fair that I wouldn't be able to enter sprite/pixel based cross stitch as it wasn't 'artsy' enough. I think they meant it wasn't 'cottages and roses and whatever the hell old ladies stitch' enough, but whatever! I feel better in the knowledge that others appreciate sprite based stitching as an art form of sorts!

Terrible! I really don't like these elitist types that think cross stitch should stay in the 19th century. Not that I don't have a great love for the history of cross stitching and embroidery but gawd, art's supposed to reflect the times. And it IS art!
I was denied a table at a craft fair once because of the video game aspect to my work. I said I'd show them examples of the kind of things our community makes but they wouldn't even take a look. Eh, their loss in my opinion

Especially when you consider that video game crafts would fly off the *' table MUCH faster than whatever the old ladies stitch up!

those look fantasic! that's a lot of work you put in on those, and they look extra super special being framed! =D

I was waiting at my husband's work one day, and some guy walked by and saw that I was cross stitching and he was shocked. "woah! I haven't seen anyone do that in a LONG time" hehe I think there are a lot of old people that just think putting new ideas into old crafts is negligent. It's horrendous that they wouldn't let you enter, but I'm sure it's just because they felt threatened by your awesomeness that you've created with something new in their safe little hobby. =(

I love that pikachu one! It would look so cute in a boys bedroom. great job! The pikachu border is very well done.
