those look fantasic! that's a lot of work you put in on those, and they look extra super special being framed! =D

I was actually told by some old ladies at a craft fair that I wouldn't be able to enter sprite/pixel based cross stitch as it wasn't 'artsy' enough. I think they meant it wasn't 'cottages and roses and whatever the hell old ladies stitch' enough, but whatever! I feel better in the knowledge that others appreciate sprite based stitching as an art form of sorts!

Terrible! I really don't like these elitist types that think cross stitch should stay in the 19th century. Not that I don't have a great love for the history of cross stitching and embroidery but gawd, art's supposed to reflect the times. And it IS art!
I was denied a table at a craft fair once because of the video game aspect to my work. I said I'd show them examples of the kind of things our community makes but they wouldn't even take a look. Eh, their loss in my opinion

I was waiting at my husband's work one day, and some guy walked by and saw that I was cross stitching and he was shocked. "woah! I haven't seen anyone do that in a LONG time" hehe I think there are a lot of old people that just think putting new ideas into old crafts is negligent. It's horrendous that they wouldn't let you enter, but I'm sure it's just because they felt threatened by your awesomeness that you've created with something new in their safe little hobby. =(

You should make some lame flower garden or something very stereotypical and hide sprites in it. then enter it into their elitist craft fair! it also would look kinda neat with the camoflaged characters peeking out from behind flowers

I was actually thinking about doing something like this! I already did a small kitchen sampler using food & drink sprites from a game. It actually went down quite well at the craft fair I was at recently

I did, there's one in my stitchings thread: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=2371&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&start=90#p48183 in the craft fair bit (it's the small one with the alphabet and apple etc!)
