wip - cross stitch zelda chest

Post by embryoprincess »

So this is my second cross stitching project. I bit off way more than I could chew as I'm still learning how to stitch correctly. I'll definitely be making another one of these that will hopefully turn out MUCH better. There are certainly dozens of amateur mistakes on this but I still think it's kind of cute. Giving it to my friend as one of her birthday presents and I'm thinking of filling it with different colored rupees.

Think i used a tiny bit too much glue >_>

That looks awesome!

I've not used plastic canvas yet, but I've seen some great things :)

Thank you =3

I love using it so far, it's really sturdy and helps tons for first timers. And it holds its shape well so if you feel like making something 3D it gives you the freedom to do so. I'm still afraid of aida as it looks so sensitive so I'll keep up with the plastic for now lol.

that is an awesome chest! Any chance of getting the pattern? I have yet to really use plastic canvas, but I did use vinyl canvas for a bookmark I made, and have never been able to find it in that size again. As for aida, that's pretty much all I use, and I've never had an issue with it being sensitive.

I free handed all of this and used a few pictures off google to help with the actual colors of it. When I start box #2 I'll take photos of each step and work out some sort of pattern for you =]
Not sure where you live but I used Michaels for the 10 ct plastic canvas for about 59 cents. One sheet was more than enough for what I needed.

EPIC CHEST

I love all the unique details - the satin stitches on the "wood", the alternating stitch orientations running down the middle of the lid, the blue lining, the rupee!

This is inspirational!
