Zelda Stained Glass Project

Post by carand88 »

I'm working on stitching out the smaller stained glass patterns that I previously posted onto plastic mesh. I would appreciate opinions, since I'm also working out the kinks of the patterns. For instance, the Forest sage pattern is a bit of a mess. I'm debating between following the pattern completely or exchanging the grays of the leafs and making them black, and the grays of her shirt and making it more solid.

link to the patterns: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=4331&p=34060&hilit= ... ges#p34060

I would like them to look as much like the original stained glass in the Wind Waker game as possible, so something similar to this:

I would very much like to see how these turn out, as they are in my to-do pile.

What are the greys and what would you exchange them for? The Forest Sage window in the image you posted seems to have some greenish greys, and I know that DMC has some of those in it's colour palette.

the pattern has grays for the outlines of the leaves, instead of the black, like in the image from WW.

Ahh, I see. They are pretty dark greys though, 3799 (which I think is the darkest grey) and 535 and some other ones too. I'm guessing you could probably swap all those out for black and it'd be fine!

Do keep us updated with your pattern changes (if any!) :D

I don't really have any input on this except CUUUUTE!!! But I would like to know, what kind of plastic canvas is that and where can you find it? I've only ever seen the stuff that is made up of squares, and it's a little floppy. That looks like it would be a bit sturdier to work with.
