Yafashelli's Stitches
I started this project (designed by the lovely, Rosaka) on March 26, 2012. It is stitched on 22 ct Aida, in tent stitch, with three strands. It's stitching up very quickly!! The red seems a bit dark, though. Anyone with previous Mario experience...Can you suggest a brighter, more Mario-esque red??
for those of you who like to see the back, here ya' go:
The pattern can be found here: http://rosaka.wordpress.com/2010/03/03/ ... -complete/

Hey, I like this! Great job so far! I like that you added Mario into it.
Also, great job on the stitching! Great to see the back and how clean it is!
Keep up the great work!

I love the pattern- and you are doing a great job stitching! The back is just as much of a masterpiece as the front

Re: Yafashelli's Stitches
The back looks very neat. I have to admit, the back of the Lion King piece that I'm working on right now... it looks horrible. I guess mostly because the colors are as compartmentalized as on this. I'm jealous of the neatness!
This is looking great, can't wait to see it finished!
Also, my favorite bright red color is #666. (This is the only color that I have memorized. The only reason I remember this color number off the top of my head is because, well... you know)

Re: Yafashelli's Stitches
Thanks for the color suggestion, Sasha. I happen to have a 666 in my thread stash...
somewhere
... I'll have to dig for it later and restitch!
As far as keeping the backs neat, I have only recently begun worrying about it. After more than 15 years of stitching, and doing some pretty heavy projects, there was no reason why I should still be starting w/ knots. The loop method is generally my favorite, but in some instances, it really can't be used. Lately, I've been favoring the pinhead stitch to begin and end threads, and I'll tell you, it really makes a difference! It's worked entirely from the front, so there's no threads loose on the back, and if you're careful about how you place your anchor, it won't show through on the front! Another nice thing, for those who use frames, is that you don't have to turn your project over to secure them!! I'll show you an example. I just finished my last WIP last week, and the top half is using pinhead, the bottom half is begun with knots...
I've been really working hard on this "little" project, and I feel like it's really showing. I'm so proud!
