So I've been stitching for years but this project covered a lot of 1st for me and I really wanted to share and get some feedback. 1st video game themed project, 1st time using anything other than 14ct fabric and 1st time dyeing fabric. (2 out of 3 working out isn't bad)

I knew there was no way that I would be able to finish this bookmark in time for Christmas so I tried to get it to a point where my hubby might be able to figure out what I was doing. He recognized the FF save screen but since this is going to be huge for a bookmark he didn't quite get that. He did say that he would start reading bigger books. (How can I not love a guy who gets me. )

So thanks to Lord Libidan for the pattern he worked up for me and the advice on a higher count fabric (never even occurred to me  ) since I would have taken a lot longer to work up a smaller pattern on my own.

Here's the original bookmark that inspired me.

Definitely the most appropriate bookmark pattern ever, bar none. :D I had my own first experience dyeing fabric for my piece for this month's challenge, and I think your effort came out better.

Thanks. I actually dyed the fabric twice. The 1st time it turned out brownish-grey. Now it looks like a washed out black. That's what I get for being too impatient to wait for my local store to restock or for an order to ship.
