I did it a little differently than the NES version... I used the background from the Super Nintendo version. I'm hoping to get it done in the next month or two, if I speed up on my stitching.
It's a bit of a mess, but it's getting there. My grandmother always scolds me for jumping all over the place, but I can't help it!
Oh, and the purple mess above 5 is felt pen. I drew the pattern of the background on at first so I could follow it and it bled. At least I can still stitch over it.
