Where do Seed Bead Sprites go?

Post by AngiKate »

I've been lurking just a little bit and there are places for cross stitch and places for perler beads, but what about seed beads? I suppose needlecraft is a good place, so here goes!

Kinda think there should be a 3rd link to something. Something indeed.

These are great! I went through a phase of realizing every craft was my purpose in life, one craft at a time. When I thought of tiny bead crafts, same thing happened, but I couldn't find any info, so I thought maybe I'd imagined it. I see that they do exist, and can indeed make marvelous Mario figures.

This delights me. :clapping:

Fantastic :) I really need to get back into beading. Thread or wire? I'm inspired to try and make some 3D ones now :)

Great work! Is it very "fiddly" trying to string such small beads?

I use thread. These images are in size 11 seeds, so size A thread works really well. Any thicker and you can't pass the needle enough times through the beads on the ends. I've got some size 15 seed projects, too, and you have to use a very thin size 00 thread and tiny needles.

I'm not sure I understand what you're asking, but I'll give it my best shot. ^_^ Unlike cross stitch or perlers, each bead builds upon the previous one, so I don't have a mat or backing to help with stability. For example, the tail on blue needed an extra pin to keep it straight, but I couldn't place the pin and keep stitching at the same time, so I had to mess around with the thread tension to keep it close to the way I wanted it, then place the pin.
