Hylian shield stitch

Post by telemachus »

I found this website and was inspired to finally learn how to cross stitch. This is the first thing I've made, thanks to a pattern by silly-kitten71 (viewtopic.php?f=5&t=2407&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&start=10). This is such a fun and relaxing hobby, I'm going to start another right away with twice as many colors. Thanks for showing me how awesome it is, sprite stitch!

That looks great, especially for your first project! Your right about it being such a relaxing hobby. Its so therapuetic, i'm sitting here stitching along to regina spektor and i couldn't care less about all the work i've got to do tomorrow

The great thing about sprite stitch is that chances are someone has made a pattern for the thing you want. And the challenges are always great if you want a side project to distract you from a 20000 stitch epic. Thats actually a piece of advice i'm gonna give you, don't burn out too quickly on one massive piece, put it down every so often and make something quick and fun like a bookmark or keyring :good:

Keep up the good work!

Love your screen name! Go Odyssey! (The dorky English teacher in me :) )

Wonderful first stitch! It's the greatest hobby in the world, and relaxing till you get a knot... and then  the evil comes out!

Keep posting more!

Its Amazing. I was inspired by sprite-stitch too. You're doing really well. It looks great. :D

It is very relaxing so long as you don't get knots, or if you have one of those patterns with like 50 different colors and you have to keep changing threads. That is a little less relaxing.

Oh wow, that's great for a first! :D
Now I want to make one, too.. xD I like gamerwolff's idea about metallic threads, but I think I would do just the gold and silver in metallic. Just to make them pop a bit!
I'm gonna save that pattern right away.. xD
