Mario Sampler in a Tray

This was completed and framed around Christmas, but I apparently forgot to post any pictures.
The framer in Italy used silicone to seal the glass, so it should be safe to use the tray to carry liquids that may spill. However, I'm terrified at the idea that anything could happen to it and I haven't used it once. It sits proudly on my breakfast bar and it gets me a lot of compliments by first-time visitors. Non a bad way to use it, after all

Excellent! I love seeing the stitchings used in new ways - and functional ones are my favourites! (Even if you daren't use it!)

That looks awesome! I'd be too afraid to use it as a tray, too.

Sweet!!! That is one dinner tray that I would use all the time just so I could see the cool design.

Wow!!! I love stuff that's finished differently like this - I'm always looking for different and interesting ways to finish projects.
I'm like you though - I'd be terrified to use this - as a decoration on the breakfast bar - absolutely perfect!

I agree! Seeing all the different ways people "publish" their work is so much fun!
And it is a beautiful piece!

Exactly! I'm always looking for new ways to make my stitchings useful (that's why I LOVE making baby items, at least I know they'll be worn for a few months). Honestly, there are only so many projects you can hang on the wall before you run out of space and I'd say I'm done with that after making the twin Pac-Man and Galaga big stitchings (still haven't framed them... too expensive to do it in the US and too big to bring with me whenever I go back to Italy!).
I just realized I've made a lot of other stitchings and I haven't posted any pictures of them. I'll do it in the next few days if work slows down a little...
