Tetris Magnets

My Tetris magnet set is coming along slowly but surely. There's a lot of trial and error going on as far as how to cut the edges (which has given me a TON of trouble, but I think I may have finally found a way that satisfies me) and how many stitches to make on the corners.

I have half a mind to make two of each piece per set to allow more playing around on the fridge, but for now I'm focusing on making one of each for purposes of pictures and satisfaction.

It's taking me a while because to be honest, I'm more used to working with Aida and embroidery floss as opposed to plastic canvas and yarn. I know which one I prefer, but I still really want to make these because they're so cute.

(I just realized that the stitches are running in different directions on the two pieces in the picture. I wanted to cry, but then I realized since it's a perfect square, I can flip it to make things look good again. I'll have to be careful on the other pieces!)

This is delightful. I might have to make myself a set of these.

Thank you everyone for your kind words! I finally got the square piece done. I know I'm going really slowly; as I said in the first post, I'm much more used to cross stitching. ^^;

And the worst part about working with the yarn (at least for me) is that it's a lot harder to undo a stitch if something goes wrong. Thankfully the canvas is cheap, but I hate having to cut a whole new shape just because I messed up. >.<

But I'm glad I'm not alone! :D

A lot of patience. One of my biggest problems is losing count on the outline, since I do 2 over 1. For me it just took a lot of trial and error with cutting the canvas correctly and choosing a decent size for the pieces, and maintaining even tension throughout on the border. But maybe that was just me. I think the outline is my least favorite part, actually, with the corners. And of course, since I do the outlines first, it's the reason I don't have more of the set completed... D:

Let me know how it turns out, I'd love to see! :D
