Super Mario 3 - World 2 (WIP)

As of yesterday, I'm starting my second world of Super Mario 3... I finished world 1 in about 10 months, and seeing as this one is about twice the size, I'll be taking a lot of time for it... Again, a lot of yellow, but I'll be stitching through it! ;)

Starting up:
A special container for the threads

The fabric all cut out and counted

Pattern printed out

Ready for action!

I started stitching allready but only finished 1 column, I still need to take a picture of it. I'm planning on taking a picture after every stitching-session so I can make a "cool" stop-motion-film afterwards...

You have way more patience for stitching than I do... I plan on doing World 1, but all the others are so much bigger there's no way I could ever do any of them.

I think the stop-motion video thing is a cool idea, I may have to do that with my next project!

This is going to be awesome. I can't wait to see your work in progress.

I need some kind of storage system for my threads. I currently have all mine separated in to baggies =P

I use those little plastic sandwich-bags as well as shoppingbags for in my work-bag so I can take it on the train to work. But because I need a fare amount of thread for this project and I had this container left It became designated for the threads. I have another small and one big, for the rest of my threads, non-assigned ;)

Good luck on this! My SMB 3 - World 1 map is at the same point it was 3 months ago. Are you planning on doing all 8 world maps? I tried to do the stop-motion thing too, but then I went through a period of feeling like I didn't do much and abandoned the idea. But if you are able to make it all the way through, I'll be excited to see how it looks!

Jim, too bad your World 1 isn't progressing anymore... I hope you can find the time and will-power to finish it at least! :good:
I'm hoping that one day I will have all the worlds done, but I think by that time, nobody will even remember Nes or Super Mario
As for the stop motion, I allready forgot to take a picture last night, before I continued. But since there was only 1 line done, I don't mind and will try and keep up with this idea. So now I have 2! lines done ;) On to the 3 lines of black... and then a whole lot of yellow!

First real WIP... After about 4 hours of work, I managed to get the borders on the right done. Now it's off to the yellow parts!

I would really love to do all 8 worlds... but I really have NO IDEA what I would do with them when they were finished... Something of that magnitude I would never be able to part with, and I have absolutely nowhere to hang them! I am going to do world 1 - but I doubt I ever do any of the others.

Hats off to you for doing this! :hello:

Good luck! I'm excited to see your progress. Maybe it will inspire me to start on World 1. Have fun!
