World of warcraft characters - WIP

Post by Nanakee »

Hello all... I've been lurking these forums for quite some time, I'm more of a crochet girl to be honest... But a few days ago I decided I'd try cross stitching and I actually kinda like it... :3
My very first project was the Nyan cat, I don't remember who the person is who put the pattern up on this website but thank you...It didn't turn out too bad, hubby liked it so much he framed it and put it on a wall of our house

But so... As I finished this nyan cat in roughly an evening (thank you TV shows for keeping me company), I thought to myself "well, okay, I get it, now I wanna do something bigger!

So I decided to prepare a birthday present for my husband and made a little montage of our two characters on World of Warcraft. And yes, I'm going to cross stitch this... In fact, I've already started today after I went and bought all the 60 colors needed... :moog

Here are some pictures...

First of all, the original montage-thingie :

The pattern I made from it (some big stuff!) :

My current progression... Not too impressive yet I know, but sheesh it takes time, especially when tv shows distract you and "ooooops..."... Also sorry but my phone's camera is really crappy <_<''

Hope you enjoy this, I decided to post this here to keep me motivated, I really want to go through with it and will update it as much as i can! :mush

Thanks for reading~

Holy JEEBUS. As a new cross-stitcher myself and a fellow WoW player (Moon Guard Horde, f'sho!), I admire your guts in tackling something this complex!! Be sure to keep us posted! :peach

It takes time on massive projects, but it will look GREAT!

Also, I do love the framed Nyan Cat :)

Love this!

I am also working on a huge WoW cross stitch, but mine is on hold until I finish my May/June contest entry and a gift for two friends who are getting married.

I'll be very interested in following your progress!

Thank you for the kind words...

Lunariah > That's funny, I'm also going to have to put this on hold because two friends are getting married and i want to cross stitch something for them! (well, for the bride actually, she loves hydrangeas...)

Put in an hour today before going to work, probably won't be able to work on it tonight because the cats decided to break everything on my dining room table and I'll most likely have to spend the whole evening cleaning that up. Stupid cats.

I'm trying to finish a "square" before extending myself but that's hard, I'm all like... "But there's the same color here again! and here! and here! It's so close I should just do it real quick!" then the whole thing looks like an octopus and I'm sure I'm gonna forget some stitches... Eventhough i'm coloring in red the stitches already made on my pattern kekeke. I think for next time I won't put a wip that looks like nothing, ill try to wait until like....something looks decent

This is sadly going to be abandoned due to my noobie husband deciding he doesn't like playing WoW anymore, so that makes it kind of a bummer for me! I decided to do something a bit smaller for his birthday since he seems to change his mind a lot on what he likes and doesn't like =P this way I won't go crazy and so sad unpicking all the progress already made so I could reuse the aida cloth... Husbands are noobs! >=(

So now i'm working on a wedding present for our best friends (nothing geeky, just a hydrangea) and then I'll see what I can do for my husband... It'll probably end up being a dota or league of legends character, something not too big so I don't have to pull my hair off when he tells me "waaah i dun liek it anymoar"
