Sprite Stitch Board!

This is something I've been thinking about making for ages, and finally got started - a complete map of Koholint Island from Link's Awakening!

Six metres of evenweave linen that I've cut up and will stitch together to the right shape after finishing the embroidering. The finished size of the embroidery is going to be 197 x 158 cm. (I put the notepad in the corner for scale, it's in A4 format, ~21 x 30 cm.) Heres' the complete image http://www.bliterations.com/wp-content/ ... holint.png and here's what I've made this far. This is going to take a while... I decided to make the grayscale version rather than the Game Boy Color one since that's the one I played, way back in the nineties.

Edit: Changed the title, it's not complete just yet.

There have been some Epic projects here, but I think Epic doesn't do this justice.... Über Project? I like the idea of doing it B+W, the original and best

I just looked at the picture and...are you crazy!?!? That's going to be an insane project! It will look incredible when it's done but man, crazy!

Sweet Jeebus! When you said "map", I was thinking a map image, but you really meant the WHOLE WORLD MAP! That's going to be awesome! Might I suggest hiding Link in there somewhere? Maybe on the beach where he washes up on shore in the beginning? Or perhaps someplace else, so people have to search for him, like an epic "Where's Waldo"! ^_^

Wow. I applaud your dedication. Looking forward to seeing your progress.

I've never played the game, but judging by the amount of material in your picture and the amount of detail, this is going to be one of the best projects on the site. Good luck and post lots of WIP pics.
