okay, so here is the pattern, version 1. To my eye, it looks crazy difficult to figure out. I would love feedback so I can know how to make my future patterns better. Right now, I know the instructions are convoluted, and if I find a better way to explain things, I'll upload a different pattern/instructions.

Hope you can figure it out

Wow, that's actually a really easy pattern to read since it's also in color instead of just black and white. I don't know about everyone else, but I understand it perfectly. Great job!

Yay! Maybe I'm just being hard on myself. Or underestimating the intelligence of others...

That is a fantastic pattern. Does it have to be aida fabric? Would it work with 14ct plastic? That would solve the stiffening issues.

Probably just being hard on yourself. I do that all the time. Don't worry, just be proud of your awesome ornament and awesome pattern!

It doesn't have to be Aida cloth I suppose. I never tried it with plastic, but it would probably still work. You couldn't do all the little half stitches though (and there are a lot of them), could you? On plastic?
I suppose to get the half stitches in on plastic, you'd half to make every nine spaces a square instead of ever four. That way you'd have a hole in the middle to pull the half stitches/three-quarter stitches through. And you'd need to use more than 2 threads. Maybe even a yarn. That would end up being twice as big as the original if still using 14 count. How high of a count of plastic canvas can one obtain?
Although...That WOULD be spectacular! I'm thinking that that is a great idea! Someone should definitely try that. It would cut down on finishing a whole lot, that's for sure.

Oh, and I found a mistake in the pattern. On the front hooves, the white part is not labeled as being stitched (there are no "white" symbols on it). It IS supposed to be stitched, just fill in what makes sense.
