He does look cute.
But, yeah, in that light the orange is a bit too orange-y. Maybe next time you don't really need the shading, as I think, unless you were going for a 3D look. *shrugs* I guess one wouldn't really know unless you did it again.

I'm going to be in the minority and say I like the darker contrast

I was going for a 3D look

Thanks for the kind words guys, it's much appreciated! *hugs* I've since messed around with the colours on KG chart and come up with something a little better for my next Pikachu piece, the 'Pile of Pikachu's' that's lurking around here somewhere. i'm also doing a tiny Rising Sun (about 50x33) for memory of Japan. I may put words next to it yet, i don't know... all i know is it's used up a third of a skein alerady and i'm only halfway through it! lmao.

Ah, that's such a nice idea!
What happened in Japan is just... terrible. I can't believe I haven't had nightmares about it yet.
I was watching video's online about the Tsuami's and stuff... Just ... jaw dropping stuff, just terrible...

I know. i sat and cried at one particular site that had pictures on it and one of the captions was 'out of a town of 15,000, 12,000 are feared missing or dead.' i was like O_O i just can't believe the amount of devastation... i love Japan, always have done. From the old ways of the samurai to the new times of anime and gaming. My fiance and I were talking about going there for our honeymoon barely a couple of weeks ago... i just can't believe it. She will rise again though. There are talks over in the Misc area of making things for japan...

I'm so sadened by it.
I heard somewhere like that, almost half the population was wiped out. I'm not sure how true that is, though...
And that thousands of bodies are being washed up from the Tsunami...
