Mario Coaster

Post by Lividus »

Don't know where I got the idea for this, but I know I needed a cool coaster, so I made this:

I know I'm terrible at French knots, but I really like how the top one turned out... the bottom one, not so much...

Here's the pattern if anyone would like to make it:

Haha, nice! I love doing coasters and that's a very good-looking one, as well as a great design in it.

That's so awesome! I'm still pretty naive about all the things you can do with a finished cross stitch so I'm wondering, how the heck did you make a coaster out of it?

I was about to ask the same thing. Can you buy those clear coasters at Michaels or Joanns? Just about everyone I know drinks coffee so that would be a cool idea as gifts.

Here's a link to where you can buy the coaster: http://yarntree.com/cross-stitch/index. ... cts_id=573

I recommend buying a 3" hoop, as that is the dimensions of this particular coaster. You create a design, do it within the boundaries of your coasters size, and squeeze it between the cork board and the acrylic coaster, and you have your own coffee coaster!

I did this particular pattern on 18 count, if you wanted to tinker with your own designs for a 3" round 18 count pattern, here's the template I used for the coaster:

If you want to see other coasters if various styles and sizes, here's that page: http://yarntree.com/cross-stitch/index. ... page=index
