Running Dogs Needlepoint

I've always been doing small cross stitch projects on and off over the years and I wanted to try making a bookmark. Unfortunately, me being me, I spend more time making patterns then actually stitching anything. My fingers were burned, but I still had this compelling urge to stitch something and decided to try a half-stitch based off this. It's my first time stitching this way so let me know what you think.

Now I have no idea what to do with it. It's too thick for me to want to use as a bookmark.

Sorry for the crappy picture. My camera and I are having difficulties.

Omg, they're SO cute!! ^.^ i love the pokeball border although it kinda looks too bright for the dogs, but that's just my opinion. Great work!! can't wait to see more! ^_^ :clapping:

looks awesome :) Did you use all six strands of the skein? It looks so clean!

Thanks everybody. I kind of want to make pins or magnets like this since it's a lot faster than cross stitching.

I see what you mean about the border being too bright. I'm still trying to get a better picture in better lighting. The colors are a little off in the picture.

I did use 6 strands of floss. Actually, I created the pattern for the sole purpose of finding something to use this pack of variegated floss that I had been holding onto for at least 5 years.

I can put up the pattern if anyone wants it, but just know that your version might differ depending on how you stitch. The blue and green are just guides for where the colors should be. If you look at the sky behind Entei, you'll notice that the blue lines stream down as if it were sunlight. The sky behind Suicune and Raikou changes gradually and is meant to show the lack of visibility when it's raining or when lightning is flashing and the area around them lights up.

Also, I eyeballed most of the colors and picked the ones that looked the best to me.

Wow, this is fantastic!

As for what to do with it, maybe applique it onto a jacket? Or a journal cover?
I'd be tempted to try making it into a headband... just add a black ribbon or something to tie under your hair and let the Legendary Trio be a little crown. :D

Also, did you post the pattern, and I'm dumb and missed it?

It's stitched on 14 count plastic canvas so I don't think I could applique it. The headband seems like a good idea.

Don't worry. You're not dumb. I just put the pattern up here.

Oh, I saw this thread after seeing the pattern - I love the way you've done it, with the half-stitching! And I really like the border.

Waste canvas is your friend when you want to put it on non-stitching fabric. And it would totally work with half stitches!

Hey Tevosa - where did you get the patterns for the dogs? Are those in-box sprites?
