I'll have to get waste canvas. I'm planning to stitch some patterns onto a tote bag soon.

The dogs are the overworld sprites from HeartGold/SoulSilver that follow behind your character. I got them from spriters resource. The pokeballs, clouds, and grass are parts of different in game text box borders that I put together. I'm horrible at making sprites from scratch, so I just make edits to existing ones.

I've always wanted to stitch things on my Canvas bag... i'm actually putting the lyrics to Canvas Bags by Tim Minchin on a piece of Aida soon cause i always forget my canvas bags when i go shopping. lol. How would i go about stitching things to my Tote bag? isn't it pretty difficult without the straightness of the squares? o.o or am i too much of a newbie to go stitching canvas bags yet? lmao!

Waste canvas looks like thin aida fabric. It's made so that it's water soluble.

You cut out a section that you need, that's a bit (1-3 inches) bigger than your project. Then you pin it in place. Use a ruler or other guide to help you pin it on straight.

Then you use a sharp needle instead of a traditional blunt tapestry needle. After you've stitched your pattern you take a damp sponge (not dripping wet) and you wet the fabric. Then comes the tedious tugging and pulling and often with tweezers. And then voila! pattern neatly stitched on fabric.

In order to avoid messy stitches you will have to make sure you enter and exit the fabric you're stitching on to in the same place, otherwise you'll still get wonky stitches. That's what happened to me when I tried to use waste canvas to put pokemon on a pair of jeans. Didn't go well.
