Yeah, I've seen several commercially-made charts that called for black aida that I would have LOVED to do, and they looked amazing on black but wouldn't have looked as good on white. They were pretty complicated, and I was never confident enough in my skills to attempt them. The Nintendo sampler, for the most part, is a fairly simple pattern, it's just HUGE. So long as I don't get frustrated with it I should, in theory, be able to do it. And seeing your WIP photos is making me really WANT to do it :D

I'm sure you can do it! Like you said, it's not complicated, just large. The boxes that make up the borders frustrate me, but whenever that happens I just set it aside for a while. And I really appreciate your encouragement; it helps me stay motivated. :D

This latest pattern page took me a lot less time than the others. I think it was a combination of the page having a lot of blank space, plus it lined up with my Qsnaps arriving, so I was excited to try stitching with those. (I love them!) My progress from now on might be a bit slower since I just got a full-time job, so there is less time for stitching during the week. I'll do my best, though.

Crappy lighting is crappy, my apologies.

Thank you! I can't wait for it to be finished so I can start something else after all these years. :D

Thanks! It's worth the headache of working with black Aida when I see how epic it looks. (I'm so modest, I know ^^)

You know, I've learned from the stuff I've been stitching lately, I like large contiguous areas of one color, or doing stuff like those blocks. So this pattern probably wouldn't drive me bonkers at all - the black fabric might make me a little banana sandwich, but I'm pretty sure I could deal.

I'll have to find somewhere to GET said black fabric - I *finally* found a (somewhat) local store that sells floss, but she didn't have any aida. (Which didn't make much sense to me, but whatever.) Ah, the joys of living in the middle of nowhere.

Wow! I love this so far. It looks so neat... I don't like the other pattern of it much, though. So perhaps I'll do this pattern next! Good job, Predawn!

Wow, you're lucky then if that stuff doesn't bother you! Take advantage of that. :D That stinks you don't live by any good stores. Maybe try Amazon or Ebay for the Aida?

This page took a lot longer, but I think that's partly because of my job, and the fact that I couldn't use my Qsnaps or a hoop since I didn't leave enough margin on the fabric. I'm officially halfway done with the pattern! It only took me a little over two years. Looking forward to finishing the Nintendo logo on the next page. :D
